Lapel Mic Showdown! - The Basic Filmmaker Episode 25

By popular request, I compare a high-end ($300) lapel mic against a low-end ($18) lapel mic and of course, the $300 one is way better! Or is it?

  1. Fun comparison. I have the cheap AT lav and like it a lot, but can definitely see myself upgrading for a more "pro" solution - although based on the test, it was really hard to tell much of a difference.

  2. I stumbled across your review while looking for a moderately prices lav mic for use with a Zoom H4n for motorcycle vlogging as well as tabletop product reviews. Your review was outstanding. Fun and informative. Although I don't plan to spend $300, I did learn about recording and what features might be important. I will search your blog and see if you have any recommendations that fit my budget (<$100). Thanks!

  3. The Pearstone OLM-10 Lavalier Microphone is an excellent low cost mic for recording audio for your budget video productions. I made an unboxing and testing video about it.

  4. If your looking to upgrade from a low cost lavalier mic you should take a look at the audio-technica AT803 lavalier microphone. It is a great mid priced mic. I did an unboxing and review of this mic.

  5. The actual TM1 is surely a top-rated recording microphones. This would mean in which its reaction is usually regarded as the perfect field within three size, which suggests the idea accumulates noise consistently through all guidelines. With regard to other stand-mount condenser microphones, that is essentially difficult.
